Many insurance plans offer coverage for nutrition counseling at 100%, frequently waiving the deductible. It's important to note that coverage can vary based on the individual plan and medical diagnosis, and may also include virtual appointments for added convenience.

Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, BridgeSpan, HMA, IHN, Meritain Health, Pacific Source, Providence, Providence Collective Health, Samaritan Health Commercial, UHC, and UMR all offer a variety of insurance coverage options. To verify your insurance coverage for nutrition counseling benefits, be sure to ask the following questions with your insurance provider:

Are there specific ICD-10 codes (diagnostic) covered? 

Do you have preventative benefits under the Affordable Care Act (ACA)? These codes generally cover at 100% with unlimited visits, including ICD-10 Code Z71.3. 

Is telehealth or virtual appointments covered? 

Do you need to reach your deductible first? If so, what is your deductible? 

How many visits for nutrition counseling are allowed? 

Are there any copays or coinsurances?

All nutrition counseling appointments are currently available online through secure video conferencing, allowing you to receive personalized care from the comfort of your home with insurance coverage options for virtual appointments.

After scheduling your appointment, all required intake forms and paperwork will be securely sent through the Kalix client portal for completion before your first visit, including any details related to your insurance coverage. Additionally, we offer virtual appointments for nutrition counseling through Doxy.me.

Appointment times are reserved specifically for you. Please be mindful that a $100 cancellation fee will apply for missed appointments or cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, unless there is an emergency. We also offer virtual appointments for nutrition counseling that may be covered by your insurance coverage.
